(pee press association.) Wellington, November 26. The Wellington \gricultural and Pastoral Show opened to-day. It was fine in the morning with a sirong breeze, but during the afternoon rain set in and still coutinues. To>day was set apart for judging, and only about 1000 people were present, including hi- Excellency the Governor. The entries are more nnmer« ous thun last year, and the display of livf stock and agricultural produce is said to be the best ever seen in this district, if not in the North Island. There is an especially fine show of prze cattle, ex* hibitors coming from the West Coast of the North Island, Hawke's Bay, nnd the South. In sheep, there are over 120 pens sent from some of the best flocks in the colony, ranging fiom Patea in the Nr>rth to Oamaru and Ta ; eri in the South. Thoroughbreds are but poorly repre* seuted. This Day. There was a strong northerly gale n -nd h"avy rain la t night. It is still blowing hard and showery which will spoil the attendance at the show. The day is partly ob-eryed as a holiday, and a number of business places are closed.
