The O'Shea-Parnell Divorce Suit
PARNELL FOUND GUILTY OF ADULTERY. DECREE NISI GRANTED. (per united press association.) London, November 15. In the divorce Court to-day the petition of Captain O'Shea for a divorce from his wife on the grounds of her adultery with Mr Parnell, was begun. Neither Mrs O'Shea nor Mr Parnell was represented by council. The evidence of the servants in the employ of the petitioner was strongly in support of the charge, and Captain O'Shea in the evidence denied connivance ; also the counter charge of adultery, and that in 1881 he had challenged Mr Parnell to a duel. The case was adjourned. November 17. In the Divorce Court to-day in the case of O'Shea v. O'Shea and Parnell, a domestic servant, formerly in the employ of Captain O'Shea at Brighton, gave cvii pence to the effect that Parnell visited Mrs O'Shea under an assumed name, and that on one occasion he had made his escape by a window owing to the unexpected arrival of Captain O'Shea. The i jury found Parnell guilty of adultery with Mrs O'Shea, and a decree nisi was granted.
