Palmerston Election
Mr John Stevens addressed a large and orderly meeting of electors in the Town Hall at Sandon on Thursday night. Mr A. J. Bailey occupied the chair. The address was listened to with great attention throughout, aod a number of questions were asked, at the conclusion of which a vote of thanks and confidence was proposed, and an amendment that a vote of thanks only be recorded. On being put to the meeting the vote of confifidence was carried by five to one amidst great applause.
It will be seen by advertisement in another column that Mr J. J. Curtis, of Grey street, Wellington, draws the atten lion of the tradespeople and others to the advantage they will receive by having goods consigned to his care. Consignees nt present suffer from delay m transit at Wellington, aud the consequent expense of storage, which would be entirely avoided. Thosp wishing lo send parcels or presents to Europe are reminded that he hits a cheap prompt delivery' by each of the direct steamers for London. Par eels no sent are delirered at the door of consignee, if instructed. It is also noti** fied that he has special conveyance for the removal of furniture and luggage.
