The general opinion is that Mr Ballance will have hard work to pull up the difference caused by the acces* sion to the new electorates and the support lost in town. It is agreed that if he gets in it will be one of the toughest fights yet seen in Wanganui. Chkirtchvbch, October 18. Mr John Joyce haß announced himself a* a candidate for Akaroa. Bussklii, Oct. 19. Mr Lundon will be well supported in the Bay of Islands. Auckland, October 19. Mr Joseph Greenwood, a candidate for Eden, addressed the electors at that dig trict at Mount Koskill l*st night. Mr Greenwood received a rote of confidence.
