Kiwitea Road Board
1 This Day. The ordinary monthly meeting was held as above. Present — Messrs 1 Taylor (chairman), Homer, Lucas, Ward and Fowles. The minutes of the last ordinary meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read, and where necessary dealt with in the resolutions, Proposed by Mr Lucas, seconded by Mr Fowles, That permission' be given to Messrs Donald McKenzie and Mends to fell bush on road lines on. the Board's usual terms, 30s per acre, everything . down, and to be paid for when passed hy the Engineer. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Lucas, seconded by Mr Fowles, That the Engineer call for tenders for work on the Awahou-Pohangina Special Settlement so as -to expend the thirds. Tenders to be in by next meeting.'— Carrried. Proposed by Mr Lucas, seconded by Mr Fowles, That a transfer be given froni E. A. Buchannan to H. J. Turner as requested. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Ward, seconded by Mr Homer, That Mr Crabb be allowed to fall and use the gravel reserves asked for at his own cost, to give up possession at the pleasure of the Board. — Carried. The usual monthly accounts were passed for payment. (Mr Williamson here took his seat at the Board.) Proposed by Mr Homer, seconded by Mr Lucas, That under Or by virtue of the powers vested in the Board a general rate of f d in the £ be struck on all property in the yaluation. roll for tho year ending 31st March, 1891, also to strike a general rate of £d of the £ on all rateable property as appearing on the valuation roll in force for the year ending 3 1st March, 1891, such rates to be payable on the Ist day of November, 1890. — Carried. Proposed by •Mr Homer, seconded by Mr Lucas, That the Engineer call tenders for the formation of the Kimbolton road through Apiti as soon as the first advance on the Apiti-Pemberton loan is received. - -Carried.
