(PER UNITED PRESS A880CIATI09.) Losson, October 12. A meeting of unemployed at St. Paul's was dispersed by the police, and the chair* man arrested. Mr Edwards, Secretary of the Labour Defence Committee in Australia, has cabled to Mr Bnrns for the loan of £20,000, repayment to be guaranteed by the united Australasian Unions. He declares the success of the strika would then be assured. The labour leaders are con-fident-that they can raise the money, and are taking immediate steps to obtain it. London owners are engaging men for their ship* irrespective of the Unionists, and the latter in consequence are picket* ing the ships. The grave diggers at Dublin have struck owing to the secretary of their Union having been dismissed. Stdicky, October 13. The miners at Mount Eembla have made several unsuccessful attempts to dislodge the free labourers, but in each case the military frustrated their object. Five hundred miners who are on strike took possession of the Coalcliff Mine, Illawarra, and refused to permit the free labourers to enter the mine. A detachment of military were depatched to the jcene and dislodged the strikers. The Union Company's steamer Rosamond, which was lying at Wollongong, was cut adrift, but the discovery was made before any injury was sustained by the vessel. A large stack of coal at Greta Mine has been set on fire, and damage to the extent of several thousand pounds done. Gisboknk, October 13. Most of the wharf labonrers and lightermen who went on strike here have resumed work.
