(from our own correspondent.) A meeting of settlers was held on Sat urday, the 6th instant, in the Pohangim School, for 4he purpose of obtaining sup. port for.^r. Macarthur in the coining election. ■ good many attended, and the meet' ing, with one exception, resolved ifcself intc a Committee to support Mr Macarthur. Mr Beeve was asked to net as Secretary and to write to Mr Macarthur inf ;rmirj him of the meeting, and asking him tc come and give- an address, so that 1 Bap pose w&snall be soon fairly launched intc |he se* of election Strife.
