Wirth's Wild West Show
The people who went from Feilding last night by special train to see Wirth's Circus and Wild West Show, were utterly disappointed. The show, which did not start till 10.30 p.m. owing to an accident when coming through the Manawatu Gorge from Napier, was a failure in every respect, and the immense audience hooted themselves hoarse to show their disapprobation. A well-known legal gentleman made a short speech expressing his disgust, and he was heartily cheered. The menagerie, which consisted of an educated lady pig, was the only thing worth seeing. The groans of the passengers by the return trains which left Palmerston for Foxton and Halcombe respectively were heartrending. We venture to say that more people "were " had " on this coast last night than ever there were before, or ever will be again. [We received to-day a batch of telegrams from Palmerston concerning the tumult at the show last evening, but the telegrams have since been withdrawn by instructions from the head office of the Prass Aseociation in Wellington.]
