! THE UNIONISTS' PLATFOBM. ! TO THB KDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — In your paragraph on Thursday last anent the election platform of the Trades and Labor Counoil you say " some of the planks want planing down a little." The only plank, however, you particulary mention is one which hae the very opposite meaning of that which you represent it to have. You say it " advo> cates killing the perpetual lease system ; " but if you look again at the plank referred to you will find its intent is exactly the reverse, viz., a measure by which perpetual leases shall be preserved intact, and no means provided for converting them into freeholds. I merely write with a viow to preventing any wrong imprdssion.-~I am, &0., .. . , Elbotob.
