In reply to your mdno. of 27th inst., asking my opinion of the work done by your digging Plough at the Digging Plough Trial, held here on Tuesday last, I must say I was agreeably surprised to see your Converted' Digger do such splendid work, considering the dry state of the ground, and the tough couch»grass it had to work in— the latter it buried completely out of sight and left the furrows thoroughly broken up into a fiue tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or any of tlie farmers present that it did superior work to either ot the other three diggers on the ground, and the draught did not appear to be any heavier on the horses. They break up the ground so well that very little harrowing is ] required. lam working them with four horses eath, and doing four acres per day j with each plough. lam going to sow witfc the drill, and am considering whether I j will harrow Rny before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already.
