In reply to your memo; of 27th inst., asking my opinion of the work done by your aiggiiig Plough at the Digging Plough Trial, held here on Tuesday last, I must say I was agreeably surprised to see your Converted I >igger do such splendid work, considering the dry state of the ground, and the tough couch«grass it had to work in— the latter it buried completely out of sight and left the furrows thoroughly broken up into a fine tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or any of the farmers present that it did superior work to either ot the other three diggers on the ground, and the draught did not appear to be any heavier on the horses. They break up the ground so well that very little harrowing is required. lam working them with four horses each, and doing four acres per day with each plough. lam going to sow with the drill, and am considering whether 1 will harrow any before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already. lUdo it will be only one turn of the harrows. My men say that they make a much better iob, and do not leave the furrows on edge in lea as the imported one does. J (Signed) Donald Bobbie.
