Wesleyan Church

- ♦ : :. ■ ■ I

The Foresters' ; Hall fwaa literally crowded on Thursday evening, last by members of all sections of the community, on the occasion of the Concert- and Coffee Supper in connection with the Wesleyan Church. The concert programme, although somewhat lengthy, comprising songs, pianoforte solos, readings/recitations, &c, was gone through in capital style, some of the pieces being excellently rendered. The trios by Mrs and Miss Cannell and the Bey. Mr Cannell, were sung beautifully and received the applause from the audience which, they deserved. Masters .E. Haybittle (violin) and H. Thompson (piano) played a duet in good style, and deserve a meed of praise for the masterly manner in which they accomplished the piece. The. following ladies and gentlemen, also acquitted themselves creditably in the. various items on the programme : — Mesdames Beading and Milson, Misses Fraseiy Curtis, Dickson, K. and A. Beading and Bichavds, Messrs Gr. Saywell, Milson, Udy, Shearer, Dickson and Patten. " After the concert was concluded refreshments were handed round the room to the audience by ladies and gentlemen of the congregation, who were most assiduous in their efforts to thoroughly satisfy those assembled, with the good things provided.
