"" Second Foal Stakes — Gatling and Gibraltar, dead heat ; Prelude, 8. It was a great race between the two first horses. Time, 2min llsec. In the run off Gibraltar won by a length. Wycombe "Stakes, 1 mile and 3 furlongs—Whimberel, 1 ; Master Grand, 2; Tantallon, 3. The winner led all the way, winning easily. Time, 2min 26f sec. Sydney Handicap, 1£ miles — Little Bernie, 8-2, 1 ; Claremont, 6-2, 2 ; Papua, 3. Won by a length* The poor form showed by Cuirassier in the Craven Plate to-day has resulted in his receding in price for the Melbourne Cup, and he is now quoted at 100 to 4. Carbine has hardened, and remains first favorite at 8 to 1, Whimberel also being nibbled at at 100 to 4. -
