♦ Major Campbell, of Awahuri. has been mentioned as a probable candidate foi the Palmerston seat. The Uuited Assembly of the Knights of Labor will meet this eyemng at 7.30 in the Assembly Booms. The editor of the Woodville Examiner says the Palmerston correspondent of the N.Z. Times must be an ass. The buahfellers will meet this evening m the Foresters' Hall at the usual hour, to elect officers and adopt rules. Additions have been made to-day to entries for Messrs Stevens and Gorton's stock sale at Awahuri on Tuesday next. To-day Mr Adsett, the proprietor, gives notice that the fine four-year-old Clydesdale draught horse Bruce will stand this season at the Manchester Mill farm, Taonui.
