REID AND GRAY'S Double Furrow Ploughs, ALSO, THETR CHILLED DIGGING PLOUGHS, With reversible Points, Which, if desired, can be made coavertible into ordinary Double Furrows. THE BEST IN THE MARKET, And much lighter in draught than those of other makers. Reid & Gray 30th June, 1890. In reply to your m^mo. of 27th inst., asking ray opinion of the work done by j your digging Plough at the Digging Plough Trial, held here on Tuesday last, I must ; say I wns agreeably surprised to see your Converted digger clo such splendid w >rk, : considering the dry state of the ground, and the tough couch-grass it had to work «q — the latter it buried completely out of si^ht and left thp furrows thoroughly broken up into a fine tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or any of the farmers present that it did superior work to either ot the other three diggers on the ground, and the draught did not appear to be any heavier on tlie horses. You are conferring ; a great boon on farmers by making their old double furrow ploughs convertible into Diggers at such a reasonable cost. — Yours &c. j (Signed) John Macpkbrson, | Manager for N.Z. & A. Land Co., Totara Estate. : To Reid and Ghat Papakaio, May 30. 1890. j I have much pleasure in informing you the two Dinging Ploughs have given me great satisfaction. They break up the gr und so well that very little harrowing is required. lam working them with four horses each, anc? doing four acres per clay with each plough. lam going to sow with the drill, and am considering whether I will harrow any before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already. If Ido it will be only one turn of the harrows. My men say that they make a much better job, and do not leave the furrows on edge in lea as the imported one does j (Signed) Donald Bobbie. j
