REID AND GRAY'S Double Furrow Ploughs, ALSO, THETR CHILLED DIGGING PLOUGHS, With reversible Points. Which, if desired, can be made convertible into ordinary Double Furrows. THE BEST IN THE MAEKET, And much lighter in draught than those of other makers. Reid & Geay Bnth June, 1890. In reply to your memo, of 27th inst., asking my opinion of the work done by your digging Plough at the Digging Plou«h Trial, held here on Tuesday last, I must say I was agreeably surprised to see your Conrertod ismer do such splendid w^rk, considering the dry state of the ground, and the tough couch*grtiss it had to work in — the latter it buried completely out of sitrht and left the furrows thoroughly broken up into a fine tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or nny of the farmers present that it did superior work to either or the other three diggers on the ground, and the draught did not appear to be nny heavier on the horses. You are conforming a great boon on farmers by m-iking their old double furrow ploughs conrertible into Diggers at such a reasonable cost. — Yours &c. (.Msnod) John Macphekson, Manager for N.Z. & A. Land Co., Totara Estate. To Reid and Geat Papakaio, May 30. 1890. I baye much pleasure in informing yau the two Digging Ploughs have given me great satisfaction. They break up the gr und so well that very little harrowing is required. lam working them with four horses each, an<? doing four acres per day with each plough. lam going to sow with the drill, and am considerin; whether I will harrow any before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already. If Ido it will be only one turn of the harrows. My men say that they make a much better job, and do not leave the furrows on edge in lea as the imported one does. (Signed) Donald Bobbie.
