REID AND GRAY'S Double Furrow Ploughs, ALSO, THEIR CHILLED DIGGING PLOUGHS, With reversible Points, Which, if desired, can be made convertible into ordinary Double Furrows, THE BEST IN THE MARKET, And much lighter in draught than those of other makers. Reid & Geay aoth June, 1890. In reply to your rn<>rno. of 27th inst., asking ray opinion of the -work done by your digging Plough at the Digging Plough Trial, held here on Tuesday last, I must | say I was agreeably surprised to see your Converted ' 'israer do such splendid vnrki ! considering the dry state of the ground, and Hie tough eouchsgrass it had to work in — the lafter it buried completely out of sight and !<• ft the furrows thoroughly broken up info a fine tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or any of the farmers present that it did superior work to either oi the other three diggers on the ground, ' and the draught did not appear to be any heavier on the horses. You are conferring a great boon on farmers by making their old double furrow ploughs convertible into Diggers at such a reasonable cost. — Yours &a. I (Signod) John Macphrrson, ! Manager for N.Z. & A. Land Co., Totara Estate. To Reid and Gray Papakai'o, May 30, 1890. I have much pleasure in informing j r 3U the two Digging Ploughs have given me great satisfaction. They hrenk up th** gr und so well that very little harrowing is required. lam working them with four horses each, antf doing four acres per day with eaoh plough. lam going to sow with the drill, and am considerin ' whether I will harrow any before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already. If Ido it will be only one turn of the harrows. My men siiy that they make a much better job, and do not leave the furrows on edge in lea as the imported one does. (Signed) Bonald Bobbie.
