~ ' REID AND GRAY'S Double Furrow Ploughs, j ALSO, THETR CHILLED DIGGING PLOUGHS, With reversible Points, Which, if desired, can be made convertible into ordinary Double Furrows, THE BEST IN THE MARKET, And much lighter in draught than those of other maters. Reid & Ghat 30th June, 1890. In reply to your mpmo. of 27th inst., asking ray opinion of the work done by your digging Plough at the Digging Plough Trial, held bere on Tuesday last, I mu3t say I was agreo.ibly surprised to see jour Converted i%£er do such splendid wjrk, considering the dry state of the ground, and the tough couch-grass it had to work in— the latter it buried completely out of si»ht and left the furrows thoroughly broken up inlo ft fine tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or any of the farmers present that it did superior work to either ot the other three diggers on the ground, &nd the draught did not appear to bs any heavier on the horses. You are conferring a great boon on Farmers by unking their old double farrow ploughs convertible into Diggers at sack a reasonable cost. — Yours &c. (Signed) John Macphrksok, Manager for N.Z. & A. Land Co., Totara Estate. To PcEii> akd Gbay Papakaio, May 30. 1890. I haye much pleasure in informing you the two Digging Ploughs have given me great satisfaction. They break up the gr und so well that very little harrowing is required. lam working them with four horses each, anc 1 doing four acres per day with each plough. lam going to sow with the drill, and am considerin.' whether I will burrow any before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already. If Ido it will be only one turn of the harrows. My men say that they make a much better job, aud do not leave the furrows on edge in lea as the imported one does. (Signed) Donald Bobbie.
