In reply to your memo, of 27th inst., asking my opinion of the work done by your digging Plough at the Digging Plough Trial, held here on Tuesday last, I mu3t s^y I wus agreeably surprised to see your Conrerted do such splendid W)rk, considering the dry state of the ground, and the tough coucli-"grass it had to work in—the latter it buried completely out of sis;ht and left the furrows thoroughly broken up into a fine tilth. There was no doubt in my mind or any of the farmers | . present that it did superior work to either or the other three diggers on the ground, j \ and the draught did not appear to be any heavier on the horses. You are conferring ;j a igreat boon on farmers by making their old double furrow ploughs convertible into Diggers at such a reasonable cost. — Tours &o. They break up the gr und so well that very little harrowing is required, lam working them with four horses each, antf doing four acres per day | with each plough. lam going to sow with the drill, and am considering whether I : will harrow any before sowing, as the ground is so well pulverised already.
