Telegrams adjusting an underpayment, with Treasury. Colonial Secretary's office, advising that special rate had been published. Commissioner Property Tax, stating before rates on Native lands for 1889-90 can be passed a list of properties is required. From G. E. Little, for Mr C. Pharazyn, re former application for payment for bushfelling, and permission to fell bush which had not been attended to. From R. H. Reed, stating as Government has possession of a portion of his land for three yews, if the Board will deduct their amount of rates he will pay the balance. From Thomas Nelson, applying for refund of license fee £25, paid for Hotel at Ashurst. From John Splitt, with reference to an account, sent to him for professional attendance to Thomas Smith, from Dr Charlton, and asking the Board to assist him in the matter. A deputation of settlers waited on the Board to ask if they could get something more done on the Waituna road, and asking if the Engineer could be sent up to examine and he would Bee what was -wanted. Mr Bray explained thai a deviation had been made through Mr Parson's land, a id nothing done except to fell tho bush. Mr Lethbridge said they would send the Engineer up to see what could be done. In reply to Mr Purkiss, Mr Bray, Engineer to the Board, said there was only 15 or 16 chains of road wanted doing. The deputation thanked the Board and withdrew. Proposed by Mr Purkiss, seconded by Mr Downes, That A. S. Witt and D. Hughey's application to form a fence three feet on the road line for the purpose of a live fence be granted. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Pearce, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That ihe n irnes of E. Gladstone, John Nilson, David Hughey, C. Peck (junr.), and John Fortune be placed on the rate book as requested. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Reeve, seconded by Mr Dowues, That Mr Nelson's license fee oi £25 for public house, at Ashurst, be remitted as the ho ise is closed. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Purkiss, seconded by Mr Pearce, That Mathew Green's application to fell road line be granted on the Board's usual terms. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Wheeler, seconded "by Mr Downes, Th*t permission he granted to Mr Little to fell, on ihe Berry's u.-uai terms, that piece of bush referred to in his letter of June 25ih I<S9O, and the Hoar I regrets that his last letter was < T flooked. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Wheeler, seconder! by Mr Purkiss, That Mr Warne be instructed to move the gate erected across the i J ohangina road near his miils, at once. — 'Carried. Proposed by Mr Wheeler, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That Mr Spl.tt's letter be placed in the chunaairs hands to deal ■with. — Carried. Proposed b,y Mr Downes, seconded by Mr Pearce, That the Engineer make a bridle track on Forlong's road from Oroua liver to Kimbolton road. — Carried. Accounts were passed amounting to .£653 10s 6d, and the Board adjourned.
