Evans' Relief Committee

A meeting of the above was held last night at Mrs Hastie's Feilding Hotel. Present — Messrs F. Y. Lethbridge (in the chair), Sandilands (secretary), S. J. Thompson, Summers, Curtis, R. F. Haybittle, F. Keen, Kirton, and Prior. A quantity of correspondence was read in connection with the business of the shop. Mr R. F. Haybittle reported that owing to the illness of many of the principal members of the Feilding Dramatic Club, it had been suggested to get up a popular concert instead of a theatrical performance, to which proposal large promises of support had already been made. Proposed by Mr Curtis, seconded by Mr Thompson, That Mr Haybittle's suggestion be adopted, and a concert be given on Thursday, the 28th instant. — Carried. The meeting then adjourned.
