Farmers Club

(PEB UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION) Wellington, This Day. At a meeting of the Farmers Club last night representatives were present from the following Freezing Companies : — North British, Nelson Bros., Gear Company, Wellington Meat Export Company, and Longburn Company. The representatives laid before the farmers the advantages affered by the different companies, the representative of Nelson Bros, stating that firm intended establishing works here. A committee was appointed to interview the Railway Commissioners and Manawatu Company as to a reduction of rates, and to interview Government as to abolition of tolls in Manawatu Gorge : also the Kiwitea Road Board as to opening of the Pohangina Road on the west eide of Ruahine range.
