Feilding School Committee
The ordinary meeting of this Committee was held at the Schoolhouse last evening. Present — Messrs Lethbridge (chairman), Curtis, Hicks, Morey and Gould. The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Inspector, a copy of report Bent to the Head Teacher ot the scholarship examinations. Fioui Head Teacher, reports of temporary absence of two teachers through sickness. From the Secretary Education Board, a memo introducing Mr Arthur Worsop, as an assistant in consequence of Mrs Lissaman having refused duty. Mr £. Goodbehere waited on the Corn* mittee re the matter of the proposed purchase of the adjoining acre section. He offered to advance the balance of purchase money £20, the amount required to be found by the Committee, until the Committee were in a position to refund the amount. Proposed by Mr Curtis, seconded by Mr Morey, That Mr Goodbehere's offer to advance the £20 to buy the section for play ground be accepted, and that the Chairman have the necessary transfer prepared, the advance to be paid back within three months.— Carried. After some discussion re the recent visit of the Board's delegates, and the information they imparted to the Committee, Mr Morey proposed, and Mr Hicks seconded, That it is highly desirable that the Rev. Mr Wilks, head teacher, be at once removed from this school, and that the Board be requested to take immediate action. — Carried. Mr Curtis proposed, and Mr Gould seconded, That this Committee respectfully requests the Board to reinstate Mrs Lissaman in her position as first assistant mistress of this school. — Carried.
