The Union Insurance Company
One of the most eueeessfull and reliable companies in the colony is the Union Fire and Marine Insuranoe of New Zealand (limited), which has its head quarters at Christchurch, Canterbury, and of which Mr Saml. J. Thompson is the agent in Feilding. The capital of the company is J2.000.000, of which .£IOO,---006 has been paid up. The liabilities are — (May 31st, 1890), Unclaimed dividends, £'618 9s lOd; and estimated liabilities, JE20.713 19s Id; while the assets are — Cash at |the bank, £9361 12s 4d ; mortgages and fixed deposits, £106,750 18s lOd ; accrued interest en same, £4010 9s 9d ; premises and furniture, £5496 ; and agency balances, £18,982 16s 2d, making a, total |of £198,601 17s Id. It will be seen from this statement that the finances of the company are in a thoroughly sound condition.
