A Correction

♦ DtmiNG last session Mr Buchanan, the member for Wairarapa, made a slaughtering speech against the North Island Trunk Railway. By an error in printing Hansard this speech was accredited to Mr Maoahthur, the

member for Manawatu. However, in the House last week, attention was directed to the fact, and the necessary correction was made. In this connection we may state that several of Mr Maoabthcb's friends and political supporters were considerably astonished, not to say offended, at the tenor of Mr Buchanan's speech thus fathered on the former gentleman, whose opinions were in favor of the route. We trust this explanation will remove whatever prejudicial impressions were erroneously created against Mr Maoaethuk.
