Wellington, Jane 28 George Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows :— The ouly noticeable feature in a dull week has been the news from Sydney of a brisker demand for New Zealand potatoes, the consequence of which has immediately shown itself in the Waihora, Hauroto, and Wairarapa leaving with cargoes, the greater proportion of which are potatoes. We nope they will not have a depressing effect on a somewhat susceptible market. We quote bright short oats at Is lOd to Is lid; common to good feed, Is 8d to Is lOd ; Tartarian seed, 2s to 2s Id ; flour mores off steadily at £9 5s to £9 Ids for roller, and £8 10s to £8 15s for stone process ; whole fowls wheat, 2s 10£d to 2s lid; broken 2s 2d to 2s 6d ; bran, £3 10s ; pollard, £4 ; wheatrueal, £9 ; maize,! Ss to to 3s 3d ; feed barley, 2s 3d ; beans, 3s 8d to 3s 9d ; peas, kidney and fluke do, £4 to £4 10s ; peach blossoms, £3 10s ; Breeze's prolific, £4 10s ; onions hare taken an upward • . movement, and are now firm at £5 per ton; grass seeds are uninfor; oatmeal, £9 10s to £10 j 4£d to 4fd; hams and bacon, fresh butter, scarce, lid; T^lt do, 8d ; eggs, have dropped to 1 A pe^ dozen ; honey, 4£d. The fruit - market is, after a . long reign of .m plethoric supplies, entirely bare ; good Bound>apples are in" excellent demand from 7s per case, also dessert pears< We look for full supplies of oranges; lemons, cocoanuts, and pines, by Tekapo and Wainui on Monday! poultry is dull of sale, fowls realising 2s 6d, ducks, 3a- 6d, geese, 5s and turkeys, 7s per pair. i
