Six witnesses were called for the prose- t cution and three for the defence. t Defendant was convicted,, and fined .£5 and costs £5, to be recovered by distress, r and in default of distress' to be inipris- i oneJ for one month with hard labor in Wanganni gaol. I A second charge against the same de- i fendant for doing damage to the Pound at Halcombe was dismissed for want of i eyidence. t The Court then adjourned. £
