I PBB UNITED PHEBB ASSOCIATION.! Auckland, June 12. A man named Patrick Mahr, aged about 46 years, was found dead to-day in a house in Lome street. Samuel Turtle, a well known sharebroker lies at the Hospital in a precarious condition having fallen down the stairs of the Masonic Hotel and fractured his skull. An old settler named George Simpkins, who arrived at the Bay of Islands in 1840, and was present at the war with Hone Heke. died at Whakatane on Toesday. Some human remain* hive been fomd on the beach near Helensville. They are supposed to be those of a man named George Viness, who was drowned in that locality about eleven years ago. Mabtketon, June 12. For assaulting a boarding-housekeeper named Nelly Gordon, because she would not give him battered toast for tea. Charles O'Keefe was fined £1 and costs in the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning. _^^^^^^__^_
