THE SMOKE CONCERT.

The •moke concert given to the visitors vwasiin eyery way a success. ■" The chair was ocoupjed by Mr Lethbridge, president, and Mr Xirton, vice-president, ■ was: croupier. After the health of the Queen had been honored, Mr E. H. Whisker, captain of the Feilding team,- in a neat and Appropriate speech, proposed the health of the .visitors, which was responded to by Mr Perry, captain of the Master ton team, who in return proposed the healths of the Feilding footballers^' to which Mr B. H. Whisker duly replied. Mr Kirton proposed the toast Kindred Sports, which Mr Cherinell suitably acknowledged. The toast The Beferee and Umpires was drank with honors, to which Mr Chenne^and Mr Fowler, umpires, and MrG. H. Bfaywell, referee, replied. The health of Messrs Harris, Hesse, and Cavy, three devoted admirers of the game, was «nthu> :Siastically drank, and the two first named gentlemen duly acknowledged the compli- ■ ment. The toast of the Press, proposed by Mr Fowler, was acknowledged by Mr <3&rton who then proposed ' The Ladies, to which .Mr Ferry (the Masierton Baby) responded in a very pleasant speech. The' toast of the Palmerston footbillertf was received* with cheers and" responded to •' by Mr Kelleher, secretary of that club. In the course of the aven. "ing some very, good were given by Messrs Lp\-ejoy, Keen, Rangi, Perry (2), Pitavy (on the okarina), , Harmer, Welsh; Bockell, Ivesbn and others.
