" , The after-meeting was presided oyer by Mr J. 0. Thompson, and the harmonium was manipulated by Mrs Fergusson, with her usual skill. The chairman addressed a few appropriate remarks to the young people present, urging them to take the right road>tn early life, so ac to ensure future success and happiness. He then called, on Mr Wm: Darragh, who gave an impressive exhortation on the great advantages of being connected with; some Christian Church, enforcing his opinion- by reference to his own earl j experience. Messrs McHardie, Bennett, and Fergussor, accompanied by the harmonist, then gave the musical treat ol the evening 1 in the form of » quartette from the ♦• Children's Hozanna." Mia! Harris came next with a long, interesting and 'well rendered recitation called tfc« ••Dutchman's Family." The 1 nexl speaker was Mr Wm. Fergusson, th( Superintendent of the School, who expressed his regret at the probability 6i his leaving the district ' in a few weeks but hoped, in the meantime, -that at •efficient worker, would be found to tak« his -place. He impressed on the parent their important duty of helping those ir charge of the school, by sending th< children regularly, and also by attendmj to '• home -training in the way the] should go." The Rev. W. Harris thei ga >« an,el( quent address on ".Try again.' which was important enough for an even mgtoitaelf.
