Egeria, it is probably that Lieutenant Helby will resign his post on that vessel and join H.M. S. Rambler, which is under orders to proceed to the China station. At a meeting of shareholders in the British Broken Hill Silver Mining Compauy to-day, it was stated that the furnaces at the mine haye been shut down owing to a creep in the drive where the main carbonate ore stopes, and that practically it will be necessary to reopen the mine. Another portion of the reef, estimated to contain Tover 600,000 tons o. best ore and 1,000,000 tons of poorer class, is in sight, The indebtedness of the Company i»*LI6,OOO, and the London Directors will be recommended to issue LIOO.OOO worth of debentures for the pur of opening up and further deyeloping the mine.
