The New Plymouth Murder
(PBtt UNITED- rBKBB AHSOCIATION). New Pltmouth, May 22. John H. Stitt, storekeeper at Opunake, stated that he had never purchased any boots from the Egmont Boot. Factory. The prisoner had stated that he purchased some bootß from Mr Stitt, of Opunake, and this evidence was to show that Mr Stitt had never had any boots of the Eg-: mont Factory make^for gale. He did not remember ever selling any boots to Mahi Kai. W. H, Toogood, ot Pihama, stated be knew Mahi Kai; he did not ccli or give a pair of drawers to Mahi Kai. ' The prisoner stated that he got the drawers he was wearing when arrested from Toogood. C. T. Millls stated that he saw Maloney with a purse like the one produced.
