Everybody who is desirous of witnessing: the progress of settlement in the Kiwitea will be glad to' learn that the £5000 loan 'were* earned for the eontinua,tibn of the Kiinbolton road to the boundary of the Pemberton settlement. The poll was taken in the Public Hall at Birmingham, yesterday, Mr E. Groodbehere beinff lihe Beturning Oflßcei*; -At ah early hour the township was lively with visi-tors,-from ; all parts qf^the West Clojast, irom. Jo^Jg'ostbn, j&p wer«§»ntitled to vote as ratepayers, "ana had trayelled therefore many miles to do their share of the good work.- : ■ When the result of the poll was taken the Befrurning Officer was loudly cheered by the excited throng. We understand that as soon as possible the work. for. which the money was raised, will be taken 'in 'nand, and that in a few brief months Daw's line of coaches will be running to Pemberton.
