The Bank of New Zealand
The result of the investigations of Mr Hean, who was appointed by the London shareholders of the bank to report on the value of the globo assets in the colony, appears to have been favorable. Although shares fell in the London market, the fall was only temporary and they have since become steadier. The shareholders have held a meeting at which it was decided that the head offices should be at once transferred to London, and additional strong names be placed on the Board of Directors. It was also agreed .that until a strong reserve fundi.iud been formed, dividends should be confihed to a moderate amount. It is gratifying to know that the position of the bank is perfectly secure, and the directors are prepared to meet any emergency.
