Wellington, May 17. George Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows : — The market for oats exhibits extreme dulness, and shipments for Australia are falling off \ consequent on values there suffering a decline. We quote heavy, Canadian*, 28 to 2s Id, and common to bright feed, is 9d to Is lid ; black Tartars, for seed 2s 3d per bushel ; oatmeal, £9 15s to £10 ; oaten sheaf chaff, £4 to M 10s ; straw do, 50s to 555. Millers have advised a general rise in roller and stone flour of 10s per ton, which is likely to remain permanent; roller i commands £9 to £9 15s and stone £ft 10s to £8 15s for sacks:; bran, £3 15* ; pollard, £4 sa; fowls' wheat, good whole, 2s lOd to 2s lid, broken grain, 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; feed barley is unsaleable, nominal value 2s to 2s 3d per bushel; maize, 3s 6d ; beans, 3s> 7d to 3s 8d; Derwent potatoes, £2 15s; to £3; onions, £4 10s; peail barley. £18; split peas, £16; rye grass, 4s 9d to 4s lid ; cocksfoot; Sid. to 3|d ; cheese, Grey town 4fd ; hamsand bacon (new cure), 7£d ; honey, 4£d ; fresh eggs, la 9d ; fresh butter overstocked, 5d to 7d ; salt do, 6Jd* fowls sell freely at 2s 6d; ducks, 3* 6d ; turkeys, 7s and geese 5s 6d per pair. The market for fruit is slack, and oranges are in very large supply,.", which cause* prices to considerably reduce. The Fiji steamer with bananas&c-, arrived to-day, and brought large shipments. Prices are as follow:— Oranges, 5s to 7a 6d ; lemons, lOisj: bananas, 3s ; cocoanuts, 7s ; peanuts/ 2£d ; cooking apples, 5s to 6s j "eating apples, 3s to 5b 6d.
