KEMP REGAINS THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP. ■■'■ I'PER UNITED PREBB ASSOCIATION. I Sydney, April 25. The sculling race between Peter Kemp and Neil Matterson, for JJBOO a-side and the championship of the world, was rowed on the Paramatta River this afternoon. There was a large attendance of the pub* lie both on the banks of the river and on board the steamers. Both men were in excellent form. From a splendid start, Kemp dashed away, pulling 48 strokes to Matterson's 81. Matterson was rowing splendidly, but could make no headway •against Kemp's steady, swinging strokes. At the mile post Kemp Had a lead of two lengths, and from this the race was virtually over, as Kemp never allowed Matterson, who appeared to be thoroughly exhausted, to get on terms with him, and rowed in the easiest of winners by quite 25 yards. Time, 20min 28£seo. Sydney, April 25. Bubear states he is prepared to make another match with Brown. H& declares that in the race mwed on Wednesday he had no alterative but to row Brown down. Had he not done so he would have run ashore.
