Bishop Hadfield elected Primate

|MR UNITED PBKBB ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, This Day. At the Synod, to-day the result of the ballot for the Primate was:-— Bishop of Wellington — 3 Bishops, 11 clergy, 10 laity ; Bishop of Nelson — 1 Bishop, 4 clergy, 8 laity ; Bishop of Waipu— l laity. Bishop Hadfield having more than one half the votes recorded in each of the three orders was declared duly elected Primate of New Zealend amidst loud applause. Bishop Suter congratulated the newlyelected Primate on his appointment, remarking that was a. very honorable crown to a worthy career. .
