In considering what 'may and what may not happen at the coming session of Parliament, the Dunedin Star ie of opinion that the Ministry, although they have things in their own hands, would make a serious mistake if they presumed upon this by endeavoring to force through Bills, however immediately important, in regard to which it is desirable the verdict of the country should be first taken. There are several questions which had far better stand over for another year than be hastily dealt with by a moribund Parliament. The most judicious course would be to confine the business to what is actually essential ; whilst submitting to consideration and criticism such policy measures required itt the interests of the colony as, in the opinion of the Cabinet, should be dealt with at the earliest possible period by the new Parliament, having previously been submitted to the judgment of the people.
