Feilding Hounds
Sandon was the scene of the second meet olthe Feilding hounds yesterday. There was not a very large field oat owing to .a great many members; being present at the/ cavalry encampment. After being hospitably entertained by Mr Perret, a move was made to the paddook near the cemetery where Roake, in the absence of both masters, resolved to try his hounds wiih a little currant jelly hunting which, considering it is the first time they have been asked to hunt a hare, they did very well, although they were very flash and unsteady after being used to the drag, I think with a little more, time they will settle down to their; work steadily. A hare was found iii the first paddock we drew, but unfortunately took a line across the road to Mr Williamsoh'a scrub, where the hounds were stoppedAnother one was found which gave us a bit of a gallop round Mr Edwards' house pointing* toitrardV Bulls, back across the road, through a gentleman's property whose name I. do not know, and into the paddock opposite the Sandon Flour MiU where puss was lost; I was sorry to see Dr Charlton's horse fall and put his foci on the doctor's faoe, which I expect to-day will be pretty bad. Amongst those who were to the forV I noticed Mr J. Rutherford, a youngr^ man on a roan horse. Mr WteT^Mi^.M#'/v > Williamson, Mr Elkington, tho honON ary whip, Mr Teddy Netherclift, and Roake, the huntsman. Mylks B. Hyxdb./
