Blood Drinkers
Kansas City, Jan. 29.-r-The Humane Society is investigating a peculiar sect which has a following in Missouri, near here. It is called the <* Samaritans," and blood-drinking for the cure of diseases is taught. At the borne of John Wrinkle an officer of the Humane society found a man lying on a bed in the last stages of consumption: Two emaciated children were in the house. Wrinkle denied $b#t he had been drinking the blood 'of the children. Tbe children were stripped and their limbs were in a terrible condition, their arms being covered with sores 'about the elbows, showing plainly that they had been intentibhally made. Wrinkle then confessed and asserted that the ehil« dren gave their blood voluntarily to restore him to health. The man could not be moved, but the children were brought* to this city ahd placed in a home. The Humane Society will lay the matter before the Governor, as the Kansas city authorities are powerless.
