The <•• low lying country is very rich and grass abundant The line runs through; excellent land so for. Several timber mill* are doing a large trade, and traffic on ttiip end of the North Island Railway is growing steadily. The country is held .in Bmall blocks, chiefly sheep being carried. There is very little cropping so far, but' V great deal of bush is being cleared til round. The party slept at Hautapu p£ Good Friday, and will probably addreat^ public meeting at Patea. The' weather ia glorious. Tne railway ends three miles.' beyond Hunterville, uselessly extended three miles should fine timber forest and increase of traffic. Large areas of lan<l are being opened up, with roads all round Hnnterville. Traffic on the railway is growing fast. Large quantities of wool were shipped this Bummer.
