The monthly meeting ofthe Eduodtion Board .vas held on Monday and Tuesday last. Present— Messrs Carson (in the enair), Bridge, Baker," Fry, Ndtniau', Beckett, and Hurley (who took his seat for the first time). Feilding — A., letter "was read from ;\Feildingt stating that Mr Densham 'does not live in the teacher's residence lately erected," but. lives on a farm a mile away. Resolved that Mr Debshani be requested to live in-.the^ teacher's iresx^n^ist'drd^WbeTS^fe^ to supervise the school-ground etc.; 1 SLetters jwere received ;ifroln \Mr ; ; . Wilks and Mrs- Lissaman complainiug of each others conduct. — The Chair ; man stated that , he and Mr,, Bridge } %ad" n^ad^ a svery fjiill iivestagajtion into the matter and had decided that there was not . sufficient to warrant a dismissal, 'although both were to. blame. — After discussion it was resolved to write to. the committee stating that in the opinion of the Board both Mr; Wilks and Mrs Lissaman should receive three months' notice to sever their services with the Board, and the committee be requested to forward their answers to the Board before next meeting. Midland Road, — An application was made by the settlers of Midland Road, Manchester, Feildiug, for a school house, as they had not one within dis- ; tance. Mr Pry said that there would be a necessity for a tchool there shortly, although there were not euffi cient children to warrant it at present. Resolved to state that the number of children would not warrant the building of a school. , It was resolved that the next meeting be held on Tuesday, April 29th, at 7.30, a special meeting taking place at 2 o'clock the same day to allocate the building grant. . \_ The new school on the Ashurst Watershed Road was named the Hiwinui Sohool.
