The amounts collected at the principal ports were ; Auckland, £25,585 ; Wellington, £20,400 ; Christchurch, £21,591 ; Dunedin, £32,696 ; total for the financial year, £1,500,027. Beer duty amounted to £5353, the total for the year being £55,962. The Treasurer's estimate was — Customs, £1,550,000 ; ■ beer duty, £50,000. Dunedin. March 31. Two severe shocks of earthquake were felt at Queenstown at 7.40 on Sunday. Buildings recked man alarming manner, but no damage was doDe. At Arrowtown a voilent shock was felt at 7.40, accompanied by a terrific and prolonged noise like an explosion, which lasted osec or 6sec, while tb.e quake lasted about 2sec or 3seo.
