Wellington Land Board
The monthly meeting of the Land ' Board was hold on Thursday last. Present—Mt ssrs J. W. A.Marchant^Commissiouer), W. W. McCardle, W. A. Fitzherbert, H. Bunny, and D. H. Macarthur, M.H.R. The schedule of land sold showed that siuce last meeting 2853 acres 3 roods and 36 perches had been sold at upset price of £1595 15s 9d. Messrs JoUy wrote withdrawing their application to transfer sections I, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10, Block XV. Ongo. Permission was given to Mr N. Neilson to .capitalise the unpaid amount on Section 36, Block VIL, Mangahao. C. Watson, Section 48, Block XIIL, Pohangina; T. Taylor section 64, IX., Pohangina; T. H. Groves, section 41, Block VTI., Mangaone ; J. Davidson, Section 28, Block VII., Mangaone ; E. Tomlinson, -Section^4B, Block VI., Mangaone ; J, C. N^holis, Section '54, Block V , Mangaone; G B. The' Board declined to grant an application by Messrs T. and M. J. Hodgiris for tinie to effect their improvements on Sections 26 and 27, Block, 1V,,. Mangaone. The Kiwitea Road Board forwarded proposals and plans for expending thirds on the Sandoii Block. It was decided to 'make further inquiries into the matter. Mre> Stewart waited upon the Board and asked that she should be relieved for . a year or two of the improvements required to be effected -on Sections 8 and 10„ Block L, Mangaone. The applicant was iniorriied that according tothe ranger's report she was .not required to effect . any improvements, for a year: Tbe transfers of section 55, Block VTI., -Origd, from T. DixOrito W. Woolfordj *nd Sections 44, Block XIV., Pohangina, from J. , Carr to ( an eligible person, were agreed to. The Board -decided; to obtairi l a report ori the subject, and also on, Section 153, Block AX:, 'Mangaone'/ It was decided to declare Section 40, Block X, Origo, open for: selection after 14 days' Tiotice. ;Tbe Board decided that selecTtora on village settlement sections on •deferred payments, need not reside on the sections if they effect double improvements.
