Correspondence
• BOBOUGH AFFAIBS.
TO THE KWTOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I was pleased to see by the letter from " Batepayer " that more outside interest is being taken in the Borough Council proceedings, partly because I should- like to see many of the councillors less timid in expressing their individual opinions, and partly that some of their recent acts have been instigated by a member who has laid : himself open to the suspicion of being influenced by a spirit of persecution. I entirely acquit His Worship from possessing any na rowminded prejudice, and think if he assumed a more dignified position in the conduct of business instead of leaving the Council to i»e led or driven by someone whose motives are not so pure, such strictures would not be called for. — I am, die., F. A. Monckton. Feilding, 21st March, 1890.
