Olds was handling a gun, not knowing it was loaded, when it went off, killing a child named Charles Lewis, aged three years. The shot struck the ohild in the throat and lower part pf the face, death being instantaneous. • Auckland, March 21. Captain Darnells, Miss Lyell, and Miss Cooper were drowned by the upsetting of a boat in the Maauakau Harbour yesterday afternoon. Two boys, Edwards and Lyell, were saved by swimming to shore, a distance of .200 yards,
