It Tecommenda the i adoption of intercolonial post pal'ds.at the rate of twopence, and suggests that the rate of parcel post should be eightpence for the first pound weight and sixpence each successive pound. With re* K^rd to money orders, it is recommended that the limit should be increased from £10 to £20. The report also recommends the; compulsory registration of all letters containing money and valuables. The report of the telegraphic branch of the Conference recommends that a charge should he made for the names and addresses contained m the messages. • Melboubne, March 18. Admiral Scott, in the course of an interview with the Minister of Defence, said he had no objection to local officers joining.
