Volunteer Items

It is whispered that the delay in publishing as to whether there will be an Easter Encampment in Wellington is caused by the difficulties oftered by the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Company to conveying the West Coast corps. We would suggest this obstacle could be overcome by marching the men through the Gorge, and sending them, to Wellington by means of the Wairarapa line, which ia the property of the Government. [Since the above was in type we learn from the Post that it has been decided to hold an Easter Encampment, but only the Nelson, Marlborongh and Wairarapa volunteers will attend.} The social reunion of the corps will he held on Friday evening at Mrs Hastie's hotel, commencing at 7.80.
