Volunteer Items
The Manchester Hifles paraded last night for drill and inspection. Captain Pleasants, Lieutenant Kirton, Dr Charlton and a full complement of non-com-missioned officers and men were present. Sergt.-Major Macmillan drilled and exercised the corps in the corporation paddock, and the. men went through the several •evolutions very smartly. ' \ . The re-union, at which the company medals will be presented will be held at Hastie's Hotel sample rooms on Friday next at 7.30 p.m. This promises to be a great success as all the present members, as -well as the old officers and veterans of the corps will be present. Sergt. Fowles and Corporal Milson have undertaken the distribution of the tickets, and any old volunteers desiring to be present, are requested to apply to either of those non-commis-sioned officers. There has been no official intimation yet received as to whether or not there will be an Easter Eecampment in Wellington this year. A general impression obtains that the good people of the Empire City are indifferent on the matter.
