Nine horses started, including Singapore, Sir William and Bonnie Spec. Scots Grey waited on his field until the last furlong, when he came with a great rush, and, cutting his opponents down like chaff, won cleverly by threequarters of a length in 2inin 58fsec. Champion Stakes, 3 miles. — Melos, 1 ; Drednought, 2 ; Carbine, 3. Won by a length and a-half, Carbine half a length away. Carbine was blocked in the straight by Hales. Drednoueht waß, the favorite. Titan won the Juvenile Stakes, Pet Girl the Free Handicap, Prelude the Nursery Handicap.
